Salary: USD 153,500 - 216,500 / annual
Boulevard is a client experience platform for appointment-based self-care businesses (salons, spas, medspa, barbershops). Founded in 2016, the company empowers thousands of businesses to manage scheduling, commerce, customer engagement, and core operations through a modern, user-friendly platform.
As Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of 5-8 engineers across various experience levels, balancing technical leadership with people management. You'll be responsible for team development through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career planning. You'll partner closely with Product Management and Design to define and deliver the team roadmap, ensuring technical excellence through code reviews and architectural guidance.
Key responsibilities include: building a high-performing, collaborative team culture; managing team delivery and removing blockers; contributing to hiring and onboarding; participating in on-call rotation and leading incident response; and balancing hands-on technical contribution with team enablement.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of software development experience with 2+ years of people management; proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams; strong technical background with architectural guidance capability; experience with agile development; excellent communication and stakeholder management; track record of building inclusive teams; ability to navigate ambiguity; experience with remote team management and async collaboration.
Nice-to-have: B2B SaaS or marketing platform experience; background in payment systems, scheduling, or commerce; experience with Elixir, React, or similar technologies; MBA or advanced degree.
Compensation: Base salary $173,000–$216,500 (NYC, SF Bay Area, Seattle) or $153,500–$211,200 (other US locations), plus variable compensation eligibility. Benefits include 401(k) match, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, flexible vacation, and fully remote work.
