Okta is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Platform Migration Services team, which builds critical data-driven services that seamlessly move customers across environments in real-time. This is a people-focused leadership role requiring deep technical expertise and hands-on involvement.
You will build and lead a world-class engineering team, recruiting skilled engineers and fostering a strong, collaborative culture. You'll own the team's technical roadmap and strategy in partnership with product and stakeholder teams, prioritizing work and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, reliable services.
Key responsibilities include driving engineering excellence through code reviews and incident management, serving as the key interface between your team and cross-functional stakeholders (product, engineering, customer service), and guiding architectural decisions for scalable, distributed systems.
You bring proven engineering leadership experience as an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead with a strong desire to focus on people management. You have a track record of coaching and developing engineers, providing thoughtful feedback, and guiding career growth. Strong technical and architectural acumen is essential—you're comfortable guiding technical discussions and willing to get hands-on with code. You excel at creating technical roadmaps, prioritizing in agile environments, and managing complex project dependencies. Your collaborative leadership style, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills enable you to build strong stakeholder relationships and inspire your team.
Bonus qualifications include proficiency in Golang, experience with data-intensive applications, databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), distributed streaming platforms (Kafka), IAM domain knowledge, and cloud/container technologies (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker).
