Join Coinbase's FINT (Financial Intelligence) team as an Engineering Manager leading the Platform group's core infrastructure. You'll manage a team of 6 engineers responsible for the account and transaction history systems that power every Coinbase product. This is a critical inflection point: your team will re-architect foundational systems to support the next decade of scale while enabling new financial products like sub-accounts, retirement accounts, and agentic trading experiences. Your responsibilities include leading and growing your engineering team with a focus on technical excellence, career development, and organizational impact. You'll drive the re-architecture of core account and history systems to support new product primitives and higher throughput demands. You'll own the FinHub Tools roadmap, building internal UIs, dashboards, and agentic workflows that accelerate engineering and operations teams across the company. You'll shape architectural decisions across distributed systems, streaming pipelines, and full-stack tooling while fostering a culture of high-quality code and thorough design reviews. Collaboration is key: you'll work with product, finance, and engineering leadership to define and execute quarterly roadmaps, breaking complex infrastructure projects into iterative, shippable milestones. You'll also partner with talent organization to recruit exceptional engineers and own engineering quality processes including SLA accountability, incident response, and on-call practices. Required experience includes 7+ years in software engineering with at least 2 years of engineering management experience, including hiring, coaching, and developing engineers. You should have a proven track record delivering and operating distributed systems at scale in production, with hands-on ability to review code, lead incidents, and triage issues. Experience with financial systems, event-driven architectures, or high-precision transaction processing is valued. You'll need comfort leading teams with diverse scope (backend services, streaming pipelines, full-stack tooling) with appreciation for developer and operator UX. Coinbase is a remote-first company with quarterly in-person working sessions called "surges."
