INERATEC is a cleantech innovator developing advanced chemical reactor technology to enable the energy transition. The company designs and builds chemical plants that convert greenhouse gases (CO₂) and renewable electricity into synthetic fuels and sustainable products using Power-to-X and E-Fuels processes. As Engineering Manager, you will serve as the central technical interface for planning, execution, and operational realization of complex Power-to-X and E-Fuels plants in EPC/EPCM project environments. You will lead cross-disciplinary engineering activities and coordinate interfaces across process engineering, plant design, instrumentation/control systems (EMSR), automation, and regulatory/permitting engineering. Key responsibilities include: - Overall technical responsibility for EPC plants, including engineering oversight across all disciplines (process, mechanical, piping, EMSR, automation, civil) - Leadership of internal engineering teams and interface management with operations, manufacturing, procurement, and project management - Direction of external engineering firms, EPC partners, and specialist planners, including vendor selection, contract management, performance tracking, and claims management - Coordination and approval of process engineering fundamentals (PFDs, P&IDs, material balances, control and safety concepts) - Change management with assessment of technical, schedule, and financial impacts - Review and approval of technical calculations, supplier documentation, manufacturing and assembly drawings - Technical support for regulatory and permitting engineering, including coordination with authorities, inspection bodies, and expert consultants Required qualifications: - Degree in chemical engineering, process engineering, plant engineering, environmental engineering, or equivalent - Multiple years of professional experience as Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager in plant construction and process engineering, ideally in chemical or petrochemical industries - Experience leading engineering teams in EPC/EPCM environments - Independent, self-directed, and motivated work style - Strong assertiveness and solution-oriented approach - Fluent German and English (written and spoken) The company offers flat hierarchies, open culture, flexible working arrangements (hybrid/remote options), opportunities for initiative and professional development, competitive benefits including occupational pension, disability insurance subsidy, gym partnership, and wellness programs.
