The Truework team at Checkr is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Mortgage Verifications Team. This team builds and launches new products and customer-facing experiences for the Truework platform, which handles employment and income verification at scale for the mortgage industry.
In this role, you will drive the technical vision for your team, partnering closely with product management to build new features and enhance existing ones. You'll work to reduce technical debt, sustainably scale architecture, and build relationships with key customers. You'll nurture and grow team members based on their career aspirations, hire top talent, and represent the team in planning and product meetings. You'll also optimize engineering processes to drive velocity and quality.
You bring 4+ years of engineering management experience and 8+ years as an engineer. You have strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with experience managing quality incidents as both a technical and communication lead. You've worked on products at scale in regulated environments, understand the data, legal, and human impact considerations, and have deep experience with TDD, pair programming, agile methodologies, service architecture, and system design. You can make high-level prioritization decisions quickly, develop inclusive teams, and bring humility and openness to feedback. Experience with machine learning and AI is a plus. You have an A-player mindset with bias for action, raising the bar, moving with urgency, and taking ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes.
