Replit is seeking an Engineering Manager, Mobile to lead the mobile engineering team and shape the future of mobile experiences on the Replit platform. The company is an agentic software creation platform that enables users to build applications using natural language, with millions of users worldwide.
In this role, you will build and manage a team of mobile design engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and design craftsmanship. You'll define the technical vision and strategy for mobile design systems, establishing frameworks and patterns that ship to production and scale across iOS, Android, and responsive web. You'll partner closely with design, product, and engineering leadership to prioritize mobile initiatives and ensure seamless collaboration between design and development teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building, mentoring, and growing a high-performing mobile engineering team
- Defining technical vision and strategy for mobile design systems and component libraries
- Partnering with design, product, and engineering leadership on mobile priorities
- Driving best practices for mobile-first development and production-grade patterns
- Overseeing architecture of complex mobile UI components and systems
- Championing accessible, responsive interfaces through well-architected frameworks
- Balancing hands-on technical contribution with people management
The role requires an in-office presence Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the Foster City headquarters.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of engineering management experience with a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams
- Proven experience building production frameworks and component systems that scale across products
- Deep technical background in mobile development, including experience with: mobile-specific web APIs, native mobile development (Swift/Kotlin), React and React Native (or similar cross-platform frameworks), PWAs, mobile design patterns, and complex UI animations and gesture-based interactions
- Excellent communication skills to balance technical leadership with people management, including mentoring, performance management, and career development

- Active Replit mobile user passionate about accessible software creation
- Experience building or leading mobile design or developer tools teams
- Interest in AI on mobile devices
- Contributions to open-source mobile design systems or UI libraries
