Paraform is an AI-powered recruiting marketplace connecting companies with specialized recruiters and AI agents. The company has $100M+ ARR and is scaling engineering 3x over the next year. You'll lead the Marketplace team, which owns the core supply-demand matching system that directly drives revenue.
As Engineering Manager, you'll manage a pod of senior-leaning engineers and be accountable for marketplace outcomes: role coverage, recruiter activation and retention, and hiring velocity for customers. This is a player-coach role—you'll spend most time on people, prioritization, and system design, but remain hands-on in the codebase, reviewing PRs, debugging incidents, and occasionally shipping.
Key responsibilities include: hiring and coaching a high-judgment engineering team; owning marketplace health through allocation, matching, and distribution systems that balance recruiter and company needs; managing incentives, pricing, and payment mechanics that shape recruiter behavior; building the team's experimentation muscle with A/B testing and guardrail metrics; and translating ambiguous business goals into quarterly plans the team believes in.
You should have 2+ years managing engineers with a strong IC background. Marketplace, payments, or pricing domain experience is valuable. You're data-fluent (can write SQL, sanity-check experiments, push back on metrics), comfortable with AI tools in your own work, and can raise team leverage with them. You write clearly—operating norms, decision docs, postmortems—to keep small teams fast as they scale. You're comfortable being hands-on in a fast-moving codebase.
