OpenFX is building infrastructure to move money as freely as data across borders, unrestricted by time zones or legacy systems. The company processes billions in monthly transaction volume and is backed by top-tier investors including Accel, Lightspeed, and NfX. The team includes veterans from J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, FalconX, PayPal, Affirm, and other leading fintech companies.
The Growth pod owns the entire client journey from discovery through activation: the public API, onboarding and verification workflows, activation surfaces, and marketing site. Currently, client onboarding relies on third-party tooling and is being brought in-house, requiring a rebuild of KYB and KYC as proprietary products. Onboarding policy is transitioning from global standardization to jurisdiction and segment-specific requirements.
As Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of 6–10 engineers and QA across frontend, backend, and integrations. Key responsibilities include:
• Owning the Growth pod roadmap, delivery standards, and team execution
• Leading the API V3 overhaul—the largest cross-dependent program—while maintaining V2 support
• Bringing onboarding in-house and building a rules engine for dynamic KYB/KYC by jurisdiction and customer segment
• Extending onboarding to new segments: self-serve signup, enterprise verification, channel partners, multi-product flows, and agent-based customers
• Owning activation surfaces: digital signatures, in-product checklists, lifecycle communications, and notification centers
• Managing the marketing site as a growth lever in partnership with Brand Design
• Running a credible product development process with design-ready and delivery-ready gates
• Managing a dependency-saturated roadmap involving Compliance, Legal, Platform, Payments, Banking, and GTM teams
• Owning the interface with GTM and Product, including intake prioritization and expedite lanes
• Staying hands-on with design review and technical contribution
The role requires holding multiple complex surfaces simultaneously, shipping within a stage-gated process, and maintaining high correctness standards for identity, compliance, and payment flows. Success means unblocking activation from manual work and vendor tooling, enabling growth to scale beyond ad hoc engineering requests.
