Zocdoc is a healthcare marketplace that empowers patients to find and book in-person or virtual care across all 50 states, 200+ specialties, and 12k insurance plans. As Engineering Manager of the Frontend Platform & Mobile team, you will lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for Zocdoc's React component library, design system, and frontend infrastructure that powers product development across the organization.
Your core responsibilities include: leading and growing a team of frontend engineers focused on design systems, accessible component libraries, and platform tooling; owning the strategy and roadmap for Zocdoc's design system and React component library; driving accessibility standards across web and mobile surfaces by establishing planning, build, and QA processes; partnering with UX, Product, and Engineering to build scalable, accessible, mobile-responsive components that work seamlessly across web and native platforms; identifying and delivering platform improvements that accelerate frontend and mobile development organization-wide; mentoring engineers at all levels in React.js and related technologies; leveraging GenAI tools to improve engineering workflows and development velocity; and setting technical strategy with focus on scalability, developer experience, and cross-team contribution.
You should be passionate about frontend development (React, design systems, accessibility, mobile) and energized by building infrastructure that multiplies the output of other engineering teams. You find deep satisfaction in driving adoption of platforms across an organization and are committed to making accessibility a standard, not an afterthought. You excel at building inclusive, psychologically safe teams where engineers grow and do their best work. You are data-driven, bring evidence to decisions, and maintain high quality standards without sacrificing speed. You have proven leadership experience shipping design systems as reliable cross-platform foundations, driving migration and adoption across teams, and institutionalizing accessibility and quality as defaults.
