As Engineering Manager for the Frontend Experience team, you will lead a team of 3–5 frontend engineers through a major modernization initiative. This role blends deep technical leadership with people management, requiring you to guide engineers through a transition to a modular, mobile-optimized, React-based architecture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing a team of 3–5 frontend engineers through 1:1s, performance reviews, and career planning while building a high-performing, inclusive culture.
- Balancing technical depth with delivery management to ensure consistent execution and outcomes.
- Leading the design and implementation of modular frontend architecture using Module Federation and Micro Frontends.
- Driving the migration of Dashboard from Angular to React and stewarding a web-based hybrid mobile approach (CapacitorJS, shared webviews) for cross-platform parity.
- Defining and upholding engineering standards for code quality, performance, and developer experience.
- Overseeing modernization of the toolchain (React 19, TypeScript 5, Webpack, MUI 7) to ensure secure, scalable, AI-ready codebases.
- Partnering with Architecture and Design System teams to evolve the component library for mobile optimization.
- Leading complex debugging and incident resolution for multi-frontend environments.
- Collaborating with Product, Design, and Backend leads on platform-level roadmaps and mobile-first priorities.
- Representing frontend platform strategy to executive stakeholders.
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in engineering management or tech-lead hybrid roles.
- Deep technical expertise in React, TypeScript, modern build systems (Webpack, Vite), and frontend architecture patterns (Module Federation, Micro Frontends, Monorepos).
- Proven ability to lead teams through modernization efforts, framework upgrades, and legacy system isolation.
- Strong understanding of web-based hybrid mobile approaches (CapacitorJS, Ionic, WebViews) and responsive design.
- Track record solving complex system design problems across multiple teams and applications.
- Excellent communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Passion for mentoring engineers and scaling systems and people together.
