Salary: USD 176,000 - 264,000 / annual

Klaviyo is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Amplify team, which builds internal tools, platforms, and AI-powered automation that help the organization work more efficiently at scale. The team partners across Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Product, and Customer Service to solve operational problems with well-designed software, including internal applications, 3rd-party integrations, interactive dashboards, CMS integrations, and AI systems that automate repetitive tasks. In this role, you will lead multiple engineering teams and set the technical vision for internal tools and platforms that drive efficiency, automation, and productivity. You will own a portfolio of internal systems supporting Sales, Marketing, Customer Service & Success, and R&D, including AI-powered workflows, internal web applications, data and event pipelines, 3rd-party integrations, and support tooling. You will balance technical leadership and people leadership, setting direction, modeling best practices, and enabling teams to deliver efficiently. You will partner closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and senior internal stakeholders to translate organizational challenges into scalable, high-quality software solutions. You will learn and evolve Klaviyo's end-to-end internal workflows, scaling platforms and processes to support the company's next phase of growth. The Amplify team's core technologies include Python/Django/FastAPI, TypeScript/React/Astro, Sanity CMS, Optimizely, Figma, Smartling, HubSpot, Tableau, Cloudflare Pages/Workers, MySQL/Redis/Memcached, and AWS. Klaviyo supports work authorization and relocation for this position. The role may require up to 10% travel for new hire onboarding, client or partner work, team meetings, and industry events. REQUIREMENTS: - BA or BS Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience - 6-8+ years of hands-on software development experience building and operating highly available, full-stack SaaS products at scale, with strong understanding of modern web architectures and scalable, multi-tenant design patterns - 5+ years of experience as an engineering manager, leading high-performing teams that deliver complex, cross-team initiatives over multiple quarters using an agile, iterative approach - AI-native technical leader with hands-on experience using modern AI tools and workflows (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) in your own work and enabling teams to do the same - Comfortable setting technical direction and standards, partnering with peers and senior leadership to evolve architecture, development practices, and shared engineering processes - Strong track record of end-to-end ownership, from design through delivery and deployment, including estimating work, managing risks, and ensuring teams reliably meet commitments - Experience building tools and workflows to support Marketing teams, especially generating marketing collateral (copy, images, translations) using AI automated workflows - Hands-on experience with front-end development using TypeScript & React, including diagnosing and improving application performance - Experience using and integrating with CMSs like Sanity and Contentful - Hands-on experience doing Internationalization (I18N) and Localization (L10N) at scale, especially using AI and tools such as Smartling - Effective cross-functional leader and communicator, serving as a clear interface between engineering, product, and business stakeholders - People-first leader and coach, experienced in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and developing engineers through constructive feedback and growth opportunities - Enjoy leading teams that build internal platforms, tools, or systems that improve end-user productivity, automation, and operational efficiency - Question convention, continuously improve how work gets done, and thrive in small, autonomous teams that ship early and often NICE TO HAVE: - Experience building internal tools and automations for developers and/or non-technical stakeholders as well as operational systems that improve reliability and productivity - Experience with experimentation, A/B-testing, personalization platforms such as Optimizely, AB Tasty, Adobe Target
