You will join as an Engineering Manager responsible for leading and developing a team focused on the Finance domain, including clinic payments, invoices, financial reports, and health insurance integrations. Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, you will own team management, technical strategy, and operational excellence while partnering closely with Product and Staff Engineers to shape the company's direction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing, coaching, and developing team members through regular feedback and performance assessments
- Defining and managing the technical vision and strategy for your area
- Ensuring accountability for all team initiatives
- Serving as a point of reference for the Leadership team and key stakeholders
- Supporting teams through complex technical discussions and unblocking obstacles
- Driving continuous improvement and sustainable development practices
The role is 100% remote within Brazil, with optional access to offices in Curitiba and Rio de Janeiro. DocPlanner maintains a startup mindset despite employing over 2,500 people globally and emphasizes diversity, inclusion, and work-life balance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) — DocPlanner is an English-first company
- Strong technical background across the software development lifecycle with ability to support teams in complex technical discussions
- Experience modernizing legacy systems into modern architectures
- Experience leading teams and improving ways of working
- Lean, proactive approach to software development, balancing impact with sustainable, high-quality delivery

- Experience mentoring others and developing future leaders and mentors
- Previous fintech experience is a plus
