Cohere is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Deployment Engineering team in North America, focusing on building agentic solutions with the North platform. This is a hands-on management role requiring technical depth and strong leadership in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
You will manage a team of Forward Deployed Engineers who build and deploy agentic solutions in on-premises environments for enterprise customers in critical sectors including finance, healthcare, and telecommunications. Your responsibilities include leading and mentoring the team, owning customer success from technical implementation through delivery, and collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Sales to shape enterprise AI delivery.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor Forward Deployed Engineers focused on agentic solutions
- Own customer success across technical implementation and delivery
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams
- Build relationships with technical stakeholders at customer organizations
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Define and implement scalable processes for agent development and deployment across multiple client environments
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years managing software engineering teams
- Experience managing engineers in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Hands-on experience building and deploying enterprise software at scale, with focus on agentic applications
- High agency and execution-oriented mindset
- Excellent English communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
Nice-to-have qualifications include AI/ML infrastructure experience and background in enterprise security and compliance.
