Airtable is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Admin & Governance team within the Enterprise engineering pillar. This role focuses on scaling product experiences for Airtable's largest customers, including 80% of the Fortune 100. The Admin & Governance team is building an AI Governance framework that provides enterprise customers with granular controls for confidently adopting AI. This includes feature enablement, capability-based restrictions, and full admin visibility. The team owns Airtable's enterprise trust infrastructure, including the Admin Panel, SSO, audit systems, and User Groups that power governance for major customers. Key responsibilities include: - Lead, manage, and grow a high-functioning engineering team responsible for systems and frameworks - Partner with engineering leaders on technical decisions and initiatives to ensure high-quality, sustainable product development - Nurture and develop engineers at all career stages, multiplying impact of senior engineers while coaching early-career talent - Collaborate with cross-functional partners (product, design) to define and execute short and long-term strategy - Implement processes that enable team scaling and productivity while maintaining agility in a dynamic environment - Drive the AI Governance roadmap and unblock adoption for Airtable's largest customers Required qualifications: - 5+ years as an engineer (staff or tech lead IC level) plus 2+ years as a manager, or equivalent combination - Strong customer focus with experience partnering closely with Product Managers - Experience navigating large, complex systems - Proven track record leading high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced environments - Experience growing and mentoring engineers - Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work streams The role is hybrid with expectation of in-office presence 2-3 times per week for team collaboration. Candidates should be based in San Francisco or New York City.
