Testlio is a profitable, growing crowdsourced testing platform serving enterprise clients globally. This Engineering Manager role leads the team responsible for the core platform capabilities—the features clients use daily to plan, run, and manage testing campaigns across 600,000+ devices and 150+ countries.
You will own technical direction and delivery for core platform domains, reporting to the Director of Engineering. The role blends hands-on technical contribution (20–30% of time) with people leadership and strategic architecture work.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead the design and delivery of agentic AI workflows embedded into the platform's core, moving beyond assistive features toward autonomous testing workflows that plan, execute, and adapt.
• Set multi-quarter technical direction for your domains, partnering with the AI/ML team on underlying models and frameworks, and with product on platform evolution.
• Modernize the platform foundation: consolidate fragmented data models, evolve legacy services, and bring transactional integrity to older data stores so agents can operate safely.
• Establish effective engineering operating rhythms—planning, prioritization, design reviews—that balance delivery speed with long-term scalability.
• Own production support and escalations for your domains, driving automation and permanent fixes to reduce recurring issues.
• Stay close to the code: write production code, provide substantive reviews on critical pull requests, and sign off on key technical designs. Remove critical bottlenecks and contribute directly when needed while empowering the team to own delivery independently.
• Partner closely with a dedicated product manager on discovery, prioritization, outcomes, and roadmap influence.
Testlio is female-founded, nearly half the team identifies as women, and the culture emphasizes inclusive collaboration, remote-first operations, and sustainable pace. The company is cash-strong, subscription-based, and serves enterprise clients with high NPS (4.7 on G2); several largest clients have been with Testlio 7+ years and spend $500K+/year.
Role is 100% remote, open to candidates in the UK, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, and Estonia. No visa sponsorship available. Benefits include flexible PTO, stock options, and $300 annual learning stipend.
