Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the energy and compute foundation for the world's most ambitious AI workloads. As Engineering Manager for the Data Platform, you will lead a high-impact team of data engineers responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers Crusoe's AI and cloud operations.
You will manage a team of data engineers, conducting regular 1:1s, providing career development guidance, and fostering a culture of high performance and psychological safety. You'll partner with Product, Data Science, and Cloud Leadership to define the long-term vision and quarterly OKRs for the data platform, ensuring alignment with Crusoe's mission-critical data needs.
While not writing code daily, you will participate in design reviews and provide technical oversight to ensure the team builds scalable, maintainable architectures including Data Lakes, Warehouses, and ETL frameworks. You'll drive engineering best practices around CI/CD, data quality monitoring, and incident management processes. You'll also lead the hiring process to scale the team with diverse, world-class engineering talent.
You bring 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams and 7+ years total in data engineering or software engineering. You have strong technical depth in the modern data stack (Python, SQL, Airflow/Dagster, BigQuery/Snowflake, Kafka, Flink) and cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS). You have a proven track record delivering complex, multi-quarter technical projects on time and at high quality, with exceptional ability to translate technical challenges into business impact for stakeholders and executives.
Bonus experience includes bare metal, hyperscaler clouds, or GPU infrastructure; deep familiarity with AI/ML data requirements or HPC environments; or experience at high-growth startups where you had to "build the plane while flying it."
