Addepar is a global data and AI platform serving over 1,400 investment firms managing nearly $9 trillion in assets across 60 countries. The company unifies portfolio, market, and client data to deliver AI-powered insights within investment workflows, integrating with 650+ software and data partners.
You will join the Data Platform team as an Engineering Manager, leading a global team while remaining hands-on with technical work. This is a dual-track role: you'll manage engineers at various experience levels, fostering their growth and productivity, while also contributing directly to platform architecture and implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading greenfield projects that advance the lakehouse architecture to improve velocity and product shipping
- Building and owning end-to-end services that scale to enterprise requirements
- Architecting next-generation interfaces for seamless agentic AI development
- Managing a geographically distributed team and supporting their professional development
- Contributing to the global data and infrastructure operating model
You'll work with engineering and product stakeholders across the organization to improve platform velocity and enable capabilities that position Addepar as the leading data and AI platform for finance.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent; 5+ years of engineering experience; deep hands-on expertise with AWS cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform); strong technical knowledge of Java or Python; experience with datastores (DynamoDB, Postgres, MySQL). Highly valued: systems design and distributed processing knowledge (Apache Spark, Databricks, Snowflake); messaging technologies (Kafka, AWS Kinesis).
