Snowflake is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a 10-person team focused on Developer Experience (DEX) for data engineering workloads. This role reports to the manager overseeing DEX across all geographies and owns the authoring surfaces where data engineers write, run, automate, and debug their work on Snowflake. You will shape the product direction and execution across multiple critical surfaces: Workspaces (a React/TypeScript browser-based IDE in Snowsight), Cortex Code Desktop (VS Code-grade local development), Cortex Code CLI (terminal-based workflows), and Pipeline Observability UIs. The team is shipping high-impact products including dbt Projects on Snowflake (GA), Database Change Management (DCM, in public preview), and Pipeline Builder (a visual orchestration canvas heading to public preview this summer). Key responsibilities include leading technical strategy, mentoring engineers, building cross-functional relationships across Snowflake's stack, hands-on product validation, and roadmap development. You'll work directly with customers (internal and external) to understand pain points and author solutions. The role requires strong product instincts, the ability to navigate complex dependencies across UX, backend, and infrastructure teams, and a commitment to growing people. Snowflake is betting heavily on agentic authoring in FY27, positioning natural-language pipeline authoring as a leapfrog opportunity over competitors. A four-year roadmap is converging into one cohesive product story, and this role is central to stitching those pieces together. Required: 3–5 years of management experience leading technical teams, familiarity with modern IDEs and distributed build systems, strong product instincts, and excellent cross-functional collaboration skills. Bonus experience includes dbt, Airflow, Spark, or similar data engineering frameworks. The ideal candidate is hands-on, uses AI extensively in decision-making, and has a track record of mentoring and being mentored.
