Salary: USD 80,000 - 120,000 / annual

Constructor is an AI-first ecommerce search and discovery platform launched in 2019 that helps global e-commerce brands drive revenue and conversion gains through intelligent product discovery. The company is Series B funded and fully remote. As Engineering Manager for the Customer Developer Experience (CDX) team, you will lead engineers working on two interconnected fronts: providing hands-on technical guidance to external developers integrating Constructor's platform, and building advanced open-source tooling that simplifies those integrations. Constructor's open-source libraries are used on millions of end-user devices and are critical to powering innovative product discovery experiences. You will own the technical strategy for the open-source tooling ecosystem, ensuring libraries remain reliable, high-quality, and well-documented. Key responsibilities include: - Cross-functional collaboration with product, customer success, data science, and engineering teams to prioritize features and address customer needs - Balancing team capacity between hands-on integration support and long-term platform tooling development - Owning the full hiring process: pipeline building, interview loops, and closing candidates - Guiding engineer career development through feedback, stretch opportunities, and obstacle resolution - Setting technical standards for the team's tech stack, tooling, testing practices, and code quality - Leading development of TypeScript/React UI libraries that power next-generation retail experiences - Prioritizing developer experience for external integrators through intuitive tools, documentation, and reference examples Requirements: 5+ years web development experience with at least 2 years directly leading an engineering team. Proficiency in JavaScript and React (TypeScript preferred). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to triage issues and prioritize effectively. Interest in customer interaction and solving new problems daily. Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Open-source contribution experience is a plus. C1-level English (CEFR) or higher required. Ability to attend meetings between 2–8 pm UTC. Passion for supporting a high-growth startup. Compensation: $80k–$120k USD base salary plus stock options.
