Robinhood's Credit Cards & Banking team is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact team building category-defining consumer financial products. This role sits within the Money Engineering organization and owns the full customer experience end-to-end—from mobile and frontend surfaces to backend systems and infrastructure powering products used by millions.
You will lead a team of software engineers responsible for Robinhood's credit card and banking product area, setting clear direction across execution, technical design, and people development. Key responsibilities include partnering with product managers, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to define roadmaps and deliver high-impact customer experiences; driving architecture, execution, and operational excellence for reliable, scalable card and banking systems; guiding engineering decisions across product surfaces, backend services, and platform dependencies; and improving team health through strong planning, prioritization, feedback, and career development.
You'll also hire exceptional engineers, raise the bar on talent and engineering craftsmanship, and help the team move quickly while maintaining high standards for quality, reliability, and customer trust.
Required qualifications include 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2+ years managing engineering teams; experience leading teams that build and ship customer-facing products at scale; strong technical judgment and ability to partner on architecture and execution; experience with complex distributed systems, backend services, or full-stack consumer products; track record of driving cross-functional initiatives from concept through launch; experience coaching and developing engineers; strong communication skills; and a high bar for execution and product quality.
Bonus experience includes fintech, banking, credit cards, payments, or regulated domains; leading teams through rapid growth or platform scaling; building mobile-first consumer experiences; and familiarity with modern backend and data systems in high-availability environments.
The role requires in-person attendance 5 days per week at one of three offices: Menlo Park, CA; Bellevue, WA; or New York, NY. Robinhood emphasizes in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community.
