Nutanix is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Content Management Service (CMS) team, which is building a hybrid cloud infrastructure management plane. CMS simplifies management of business-critical infrastructure components like virtual machine templates, virtual disks, and virtual appliances across distributed, geographically dispersed environments.
You will lead and mentor a team of 6–8 engineers, fostering innovation, accountability, and professional development. Your responsibilities include owning the technical vision and system architecture for CMS, driving scalable and resilient solutions. You will oversee the complete product development lifecycle from concept through implementation, performance engineering, testing, and release.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 6–8 engineers
- Own technical vision and system architecture for hybrid cloud management solutions
- Oversee product development lifecycle: design, planning, implementation, testing, release
- Partner with Product Management and Program Management to define milestones and align execution with market trends
- Establish best practices in coding standards, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure monitoring
- Participate directly in technical deliverables through system design reviews, code reviews, and technical interviews
- Utilize AI coding tools to maintain quality and velocity
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 12–14 years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years managing small-to-mid-sized engineering teams
- Hands-on experience guiding teams in Go, Python, or similar systems programming languages
- Solid experience with cloud-native platforms, distributed systems, containerization, and enterprise APIs
- Experience in enterprise product development or hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware vSphere)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead through influence and drive cross-functional alignment
