Deepgram is the leading platform for Voice AI, providing real-time APIs for speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and voice agents at scale. The company has processed over 50,000 years of audio and serves 200,000+ developers and 1,300+ organizations including Twilio, Cloudflare, and Vapi.
You will lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team building Deepgram's self-serve products, including Console and Product Playground. This role directly impacts customer first impressions and buying decisions through product-led growth strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of frontend and backend engineers on web applications, agentic tooling integrations (MCP servers, SDK experiences), and account management services (authorization, billing, analytics)
- Partnering with Product, Sales, and Marketing on product strategy and roadmap refinement, with focus on AI-native developer experience
- Overseeing technical design, task decomposition, and daily standups to ensure on-schedule execution
- Leading feature creation and product releases through close involvement in product development, design, and review—including AI agent playgrounds and LLM-powered developer tooling
- Driving the self-serve growth engine: activation funnels, in-product upgrade flows, PLG experimentation, and self-serve deployments
- Collaborating with other team leads on cross-functional projects, identifying critical paths, and resolving dependencies
- Conducting regular 1-on-1s with direct reports, coaching them through challenges, and supporting career development
Ideal candidates have early-stage startup experience, strong communication and leadership skills, practical software architecture expertise, and deep familiarity with LLMs, agents, and model APIs as first-class product primitives. Technical background in world-class user-facing applications and proven management experience are essential. Nice-to-haves include experience building AI-powered developer tooling, shipping agentic/voice AI integrations, driving PLG at developer-tools companies, and managing through fundraising cycles.
Deepgram operates with an AI-first mindset where all team members actively use and experiment with advanced AI tools. The pace is rapid, and the role requires comfort with constant experimentation, adaptation, and learning.
