Gong is a revenue intelligence platform that uses AI to help sales teams win. The company serves over 5,000 customers globally with its Revenue AI Operating System, which unifies data, insights, and workflows for revenue teams.
You will lead and expand a growing team of backend and frontend engineers in Gong's Dublin R&D hub, managing the Communications Capture team—a newly formed group responsible for Gong's core data pipeline. This team ingests and captures customer interactions from external communication systems including emails, calendars, phone/web conferencing calls, and texts. These pipelines are mission-critical, online systems used by all of Gong's customers and form the foundation for a wide range of Gong's products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and expanding a team of backend and frontend engineers
- Managing engineering projects from conception to completion with focus on timely delivery and quality
- Collaborating with Product Managers to shape the team's roadmap, balancing product goals with engineering priorities
- Designing and architecting long-term technical solutions with significant platform and customer impact
- Coaching, mentoring, hiring, and developing team members to reach their full potential
- Driving continuous improvement and optimization of products and infrastructure
You should have previous experience leading and developing growing engineering teams, with a proven track record as a senior software engineer. A strong technical background in large-scale, cloud-based web applications is essential. Experience with Java and related frameworks is advantageous, as is experience building user-facing products. A degree in computer science or similar field is preferred. Most importantly, you should have a genuine passion for motivating, mentoring, and cultivating people.
