N26, Germany's leading digital banking platform, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and grow 3 teams within the Cards and Digital Wallets segment. You will manage approximately 15 backend engineers, guiding them through regular 1:1s, constructive feedback, and career development while delivering critical, customer-facing features end-to-end.
Key responsibilities include managing and mentoring a team of ~15 direct reports, driving delivery of impactful projects in fast-paced agile environments, and tracking engineering metrics and KPIs to identify bottlenecks and improve team performance. You will partner closely with Product Managers and UX designers to plan projects, manage dependencies, and remove blockers. Your strong technical background will help maintain high code quality and build scalable systems while earning the respect of strong engineers.
Required qualifications include solid experience managing and mentoring software engineers with a team of around 15 direct reports, a strong track record delivering complex end-to-end projects in agile environments, good knowledge of engineering metrics, exceptional collaboration skills, and fluent English. You should have a strong agile mindset, high proactiveness, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and frequent direction shifts.
Nice-to-have experience includes previous FinTech work, DevOps culture exposure, and understanding of infrastructure and operations.
