Toku is a fintech company helping thousands of businesses across Latin America regain control of their financial operations. We're seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of 4-10 software engineers, combining technical leadership, people development, and product thinking. In this role, you will lead high-performing engineers while staying technically engaged in architecture decisions, code reviews, and complex problem-solving. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to transform business problems into scalable technical solutions. Key responsibilities include: - Building and developing a team of 4-10 engineers, fostering technical and professional growth in a high-impact environment - Actively participating in architectural decisions and technical design discussions - Designing processes to increase team throughput while maintaining quality standards - Driving responsible adoption of AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle - Identifying and mitigating technical, product, and organizational risks - Recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and developing new engineers - Promoting a culture of continuous learning, feedback, and improvement - Staying technically current through design discussions, code reviews, and hands-on problem-solving when needed You'll work in a fast-growing fintech environment where you can shape engineering practices, accelerate delivery, and build solutions that create real customer impact. Required: 4+ years as a Software Engineer building and scaling products for high-volume users/transactions; ability to navigate ambiguity and translate complex problems into concrete solutions; experience collaborating with Product teams; strong technical judgment on velocity/maintainability/scalability tradeoffs; ability to design productivity-enhancing processes; experience with AI tools in development workflows; excellent communication and leadership skills; 70% in-office availability at Las Condes, Santiago office. Desirable: prior engineering team leadership experience; TypeScript/Vue.js frontend and Python/FastAPI backend experience; GCP or AWS expertise; LLM/conversational AI product experience; startup/high-growth tech company background; modern engineering practices (observability, automated testing, CI/CD); AI-integrated development process design.
