As Engineering Manager for the Subscriptions Platform, you will lead a team of engineers building and scaling Tide's subscription infrastructure across multiple markets. You'll own the technical direction and execution of systems powering subscription creation, pricing, and lifecycle management. Your responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing an engineering team, setting technical standards and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
- Leading the engineering delivery of the subscriptions platform, focusing on scalable, resilient, and extensible platform capabilities
- Partnering with Product, Billing, Payments, Marketing, Data, and Finance teams to translate product strategy into reliable platform solutions
- Ensuring high-quality delivery across the full subscription lifecycle
- Being a hands-on technical leader involved in day-to-day team work and architectural decisions
You'll work within the Member Engagement Marketing (MEM) engineering group, collaborating across multiple business functions to deliver a robust subscriptions platform.
Required qualifications:
- 10+ years building server-side applications with strong Java expertise
- Experience with Spring/Spring Boot and backend frameworks
- Microservices architecture and RESTful API experience
- Cloud-native development (AWS preferred)
- Relational database knowledge (PostgreSQL)
- Direct people management experience
- Hands-on technical leadership with involvement in day-to-day engineering work
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with CI/CD, agile practices, and secure software development
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools and LLMs for engineering productivity
