As Engineering Manager for the Subscriptions Platform, you will lead a team of engineers building and scaling Tide's subscription infrastructure across multiple markets. You'll own the technical direction and execution of systems powering subscription creation, pricing, and lifecycle management. Your responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing an engineering team, setting technical standards and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
- Leading the engineering delivery of the subscriptions platform, ensuring scalable, resilient, and extensible platform capabilities
- Partnering with Product, Billing, Payments, Marketing, Data, and Finance teams to translate product strategy into reliable platform solutions
- Ensuring high-quality delivery across the full subscription lifecycle
- Being a hands-on technical leader involved in day-to-day team work
Required qualifications:
- 10+ years building server-side applications with deep Java expertise
- Strong knowledge of backend frameworks (Spring/Spring Boot)
- Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native environments
- Proven ability to lead and directly manage engineering teams
- Experience with relational databases and third-party integrations
- Demonstrated use of AI/LLM tools to improve engineering productivity
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Hands-on technical leadership with involvement in team's daily work
