As Engineering Manager, you will lead backend engineering teams building reliable, scalable systems that power Tabby's payment infrastructure. You'll manage engineers, oversee technical strategy, and drive large cross-team projects from conception to production. Your responsibilities include hiring and evaluating team members, contributing to quarterly planning and roadmap definition, reviewing feature designs to ensure non-functional requirements are met, and overseeing technical debt management and incident response.
You'll build cross-functional collaboration across teams to increase efficiency, foster a results-oriented culture, monitor key performance indicators, and ensure transparency with stakeholders. The role requires optimizing processes to improve productivity and maintaining high engineering standards.
Required qualifications: 6+ years of backend engineering experience with strong fundamentals in building reliable, scalable systems (Go experience preferred); 2+ years as an Engineering Manager in fast-paced fintech or e-commerce environments; experience with distributed systems and high-load architectures; proficiency with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, GitLab, and microservices architecture; experience integrating third-party APIs; passion for clean, testable, maintainable code; proactive mindset and ability to work independently; strong English communication skills.
