We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead and build high-performing engineering teams in a complex payment solutions environment. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, requiring someone who can drive excellence while maintaining an out-of-the-box mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead an autonomous team of software engineers collaborating with product management to achieve business goals
- Provide technical authority through a hands-on leadership style, demonstrating deep technical expertise
- Own overall design, development, architecture, code quality, and production deployment for your team's work
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design/UX, DevOps, and other R&D teams
- Focus on developing and growing your team members as professionals
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years as a software engineer with proficiency in C#, Node.js, or OOP languages
- Strong experience with REST APIs, webhooks, asynchronous communication (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
- 2+ years with observability systems (Dynatrace, Grafana, etc.)
- 2+ years managing development teams building customer-facing products (mandatory)
- Broad knowledge of OOP, design patterns, and microservices architecture
- Experience with messaging queues/streams (RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka)
- Demonstrated expertise in engineering best practices: unit testing, code reviews, testing coverage, agile methodologies
- Passionate about managing, mentoring, and growing people
- Team player with ambition to continuously learn
Nice-to-Have:
- Redis or similar caching systems
- ORM frameworks like Entity Framework
- SaaS platform development in cloud/hybrid environments
