Salary: USD 230,000 - 250,000 / annual
Owner is an AI-native platform helping local business owners (starting with restaurants) succeed digitally. The company provides an integrated system covering websites, online ordering, CRM, POS, and more—replacing the fragmented tooling small businesses typically use. Owner has generated tens of millions in revenue since 2020, processed over $1B in online orders, and helped 20,000+ restaurant owners save nearly $200M in fees. The team (low hundreds) includes talent from Shopify, HubSpot, DoorDash, ServiceTitan, and Stripe. The company is remote-first with a headquarters in San Francisco and a sales hub in Toronto.
You will lead fullstack engineering team(s) focused on Launch and Websites—the product surfaces restaurant owners use to launch, activate, and grow on Owner. Key responsibilities include: leading and growing exceptional engineers in a high-trust environment; collaborating with Design, Product, and AI Agents teams on high-impact initiatives (self-serve activation, AI-powered website generation); defining and evolving architecture for a fast-moving, AI-augmented product; hiring and retaining talent; fostering a culture of simplicity and quality; contributing to code and architecture reviews; and working cross-functionally with Product, Design, Customer Success, and GTM teams.
You'll report to the Senior Engineering Manager of PLG and partner closely with experienced, talented engineers and cross-functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate has ~3 years of software engineering management experience leading fullstack product teams in high-growth environments, strong product sense, experience with modern frontend (React) and backend (Node.js) systems, excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, and ideally some growth/PLG background (self-serve activation, onboarding, upgrade flows).
