As an Engineering Manager on the Product Engineering team, you will lead a team of approximately ten engineers responsible for turning AI research into production systems that power Mistral's platform and products. This is a hybrid technical and people-management role that balances hands-on engineering contributions with team leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary point of contact for your team, removing blockers and enabling execution
- Owning your team's roadmap delivery, ensuring projects meet quality and performance standards
- Partnering with Product Managers to define roadmap, scope initiatives, and drive prioritization
- Contributing directly to architecture, system design, and code reviews, leading by example
- Defining and evolving team processes to maintain clarity as the organization scales
- Fostering ownership and resilience through knowledge sharing and mentorship
- Holding the team accountable for results and execution
- Keeping the team engaged and aligned with product direction
You should bring technical expertise in building scalable systems, proven experience leading engineering teams, and the ability to balance hands-on technical work with management responsibilities. Experience partnering with Product Managers, shaping engineering organizations, building team culture, establishing processes, and turning research into production systems is essential. You will be responsible for maintaining high engineering standards and ensuring consistent quality across your team's work.
