Graphcore is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Frameworks team in Gdańsk. Reporting to the Director of Frameworks, you will manage engineers contributing to PyTorch and Triton support, helping to make Graphcore's hardware accessible to machine learning engineers and researchers. The role blends people leadership with hands-on technical contribution. You will manage engineer development, coaching, feedback, and career growth while staying deeply connected to the technical work. You'll contribute directly to PyTorch, Triton, or related frameworks through design, implementation, code review, debugging, testing, and performance analysis. The Frameworks team builds PyTorch support, an out-of-tree Triton backend, framework integrations, runtime components, kernels, tests, performance tooling, and user documentation. Work spans multiple locations, so clear communication, shared context, and constructive collaboration are essential. You'll help Gdańsk engineers stay aligned with technical leaders, team priorities, and delivery decisions. The team values learning, maintainability, performance, ease of use, and thoughtful engagement with open-source communities. You'll shape both software outcomes and engineering culture at a growing site. Required: experience managing and developing software engineers (coaching, feedback, performance management, career development); strong software engineering capability in C++ and Python; fluent English and Polish communication, especially for complex technical topics; ability to build alignment across teams and locations; pragmatism balancing people leadership, hands-on contribution, quality, and delivery. Desired: experience with PyTorch, Triton, compiler development, MLIR, LLVM, machine learning kernels, or accelerator architectures. The company welcomes diverse experiences and engineers returning to the profession.
