Forus is building an AI-powered network connecting doctors, pharmacies, payers, and biopharma companies to accelerate medicine to patients. The platform automates the complexity between prescription and patient treatment initiation—handling insurance coverage, financial assistance, and supply chain navigation—provided free to doctors and patients. The company has strong product-market fit, supports patients across 80%+ of US ZIP codes, partners with 5 of the 10 largest biopharma companies, and raised $160M+ from leading investors. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a technical team owning a core infrastructure component connecting scientific innovation to patient care. This is a player-coach role: you write code, review designs, make architecture decisions, and tackle hard technical problems alongside your team while managing hiring, team development, quality, and pace. The engineering scope spans user-facing product, complex backend systems, AI/agents, data, and enterprise deployment. Forus software must handle enormous variation across providers, medicines, payers, pharmacies, and clinical systems while reasoning over messy information and reliably executing real-world workflows. You will hire across three focus areas: (1) Provider Product & Growth—building the core product for providers and driving adoption and engagement; (2) Core Platform & Automation—backend systems powering prescriptions, workflows, integrations, data infrastructure, and AI-powered subsystems; (3) Life Sciences Engineering—products with biopharma partners to help innovative medicines reach more patients. Key responsibilities include owning team outcomes end-to-end from problem definition through launch and impact measurement; staying hands-on with production code and architecture decisions; recruiting and developing engineers; working directly with providers and life sciences partners to understand user needs; and raising the team's capability with AI-driven development practices. Required: 6+ years building shipped software, 2+ years leading engineers with accountability for team output and individual growth, full-stack technical range (backend and frontend), proven hiring track record, ability to move from ambiguous problems to structured solutions, track record of speed and resourcefulness, and strong relationships with former teammates and reports.
