Deliveroo is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams in their Hyderabad office. This is a people management role where you'll oversee Backend, iOS, Android, and Web engineers, reporting to a Senior Engineering Manager or Engineering Director.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and growing a diverse team of engineers across multiple platforms
- Driving technical and product strategy by setting project goals and ensuring alignment with group-level metrics
- Mentoring engineers and emerging leaders to accelerate their career development
- Implementing engineering practices and processes to improve team efficiency and code quality
- Maintaining technical engagement through code reviews and technical design oversight
- Collaborating across Product, Design, and Operations to influence the broader product roadmap
You'll need at least 2 years of people management experience leading engineering teams, with a strong technical background as a Software Engineer. The ideal candidate has demonstrated success in team building (hiring, onboarding, supporting growth), can lead through ambiguity managing both local and remote engineers, and excels at cross-functional collaboration.
Deliveroo operates a three-sided marketplace serving millions of customers, riders, and partners globally. The role is based in Hyderabad with a hybrid setup (typically 3 days in office). Deliveroo is now part of DoorDash, providing access to broader scale and resources across the combined organization.
