Salary: USD 275,000 - 350,000 / annual
CLEAR is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a digital engineering team responsible for powering CLEAR's digital experience platform. The role focuses on building tools, systems, and platforms that enable seamless, real-time, in-person experiences across airports and beyond, supporting identity verification and personalized member service.
Key responsibilities include hiring and developing engineering talent with career development support and performance feedback; leading team execution, ceremonies, and strategic roadmap planning with alignment across engineering, product, and operations; partnering with business stakeholders and product managers to define requirements supporting Ambassador workflows; building and evolving systems that power real-time service experiences while balancing speed, reliability, and usability; fostering continuous improvement through mentorship and data-driven decision-making; providing technical leadership on architectural decisions and trade-offs; and driving engineering excellence through ownership of performance, reliability, and usability metrics.
Required qualifications include 3+ years managing and developing software engineers with strong coaching and team leadership skills; full software development lifecycle experience including coding, architecture, and system design; strong communication ability to translate complex technical concepts for cross-functional partners; proficiency in modern object-oriented languages and engineering best practices; experience building cloud-native applications and scalable distributed systems; comfort working across teams and disciplines; curiosity about technology enhancing human-centered service experiences; and motivation for continuous learning and real-world impact at scale.
