Salary: USD 215,000 - 275,000 / annual

As Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow the team building Cadence's Clinical Intelligence platform—an AI system that translates patient data, clinical protocols, and deterministic safety rules into production systems clinicians trust. This role sits at the intersection of clinical, product, AI, and design partners, taking capabilities from concept to production while meeting reliability and quality standards approaching those of medical devices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and drive technical vision and architecture for the Clinical Intelligence platform, balancing AI innovation with clinical safety, reliability, and explainability
- Partner with clinical, product, design, and AI teams to shape the roadmap for clinician-supervised decision support and medication recommendation systems
- Lead development of AI-powered clinical workflows combining patient data, evidence-based protocols, deterministic safety rules, and clinician oversight
- Hire, mentor, and grow a team of AI, backend, and full-stack engineers
- Own design, development, and operation of services, infrastructure, and evaluation frameworks powering medication recommendation and clinical decision support engines
- Establish engineering standards, testing strategies, observability, and validation processes ensuring clinical correctness, system reliability, and regulatory readiness
- Drive a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvement
Required qualifications: 5+ years software engineering experience including 2+ years in people management; experience leading complex software products from 0 to 1 in healthcare, enterprise SaaS, or regulated industries; ability to present technical strategy to executives and engage in architecture/code reviews; backend systems experience with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), relational databases (Postgres/MySQL), and messaging systems (SQS/Kafka); Go experience; fluency with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted development tools with demonstrated production AI systems experience.
