As Engineering Manager of the Developer Experience Pod, you will lead a team focused on improving how Bubble's engineers build, test, ship, and monitor code. You'll own the DX strategy and roadmap, identifying and executing initiatives that measurably improve engineering velocity, code quality, and developer satisfaction. This is a hands-on role where you'll balance people leadership with technical contribution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and growing a team of engineers dedicated to developer experience
- Owning the DX strategy, roadmap, and execution of complex initiatives from design through delivery
- Driving career development, hiring, and equitable advancement for your team members
- Evaluating and integrating emerging technologies, particularly AI tooling, into the development lifecycle
- Partnering with staff engineers and other managers to roll out changes across the organization
- Setting technical quality standards and balancing technical debt with product progress
- Optimizing the local development loop, including build times, bundling, and hot reload performance
You bring 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with 3+ years in engineering management. You have strong full-stack proficiency and deep experience with developer tooling—build systems, bundlers, testing frameworks, package managers, and CI/CD pipelines. You're passionate about improving how engineers work day-to-day and have hands-on experience integrating AI tools into development workflows. You excel at organizing and leading multiple projects with clear alignment and measurable outcomes, balancing pragmatic short-term wins with scalable, strategic solutions.
