Salary: USD 215,000 - 260,000 / annual
Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the full stack from energy to tokens. As Engineering Manager on the Managed AI team, you will lead a high-caliber engineering team responsible for building next-generation platform infrastructure for the full lifecycle of Large Language Models (LLMs).
You will own team leadership and strategy, including hiring, mentoring, and growing engineers while defining and executing the AI roadmap with clear goals and accountability. You'll cultivate a high-performance engineering culture grounded in technical excellence.
On the technical execution side, you'll oversee architecture and development of core AI services including fault-tolerant task queues, model management systems, and cost-aware scheduling. The platform must handle millions of API requests per second and support diverse workloads from training to agentic execution infrastructure.
You'll work cross-functionally with Product, Infrastructure, and GTM stakeholders, representing Engineering in strategic discussions to influence platform growth and customer adoption. You'll promote knowledge sharing, technical mentorship, and evolution of engineering processes.
Required: 5+ years managing high-performing engineering teams with proven success hiring and retaining talent. You need hands-on experience with distributed systems, AI infrastructure, cloud-native environments, and container orchestration. Familiarity with CPU/GPU performance, inference frameworks, or LLM systems is a strong plus.
You should be comfortable owning deliverables from design through production, with strong collaboration skills and experience in fast-paced startup or growth-stage environments. Preferred: CS/Engineering background, proficiency in Python/GoLang/Rust, experience with Kubernetes/gRPC/observability stacks, and familiarity with open-source AI ecosystems like vLLM or Hugging Face.
This is an on-site role based in San Francisco or Sunnyvale, CA, requiring in-office presence.
