Relevance AI is building the home of the AI workforce—a platform enabling teams to create and manage intelligent agents that handle workflows, decisions, and collaboration. The company powers industry leaders including Canva, Databricks, Confluent, and Autodesk, and recently raised Series B funding from Bessemer Venture Partners, Insight Partners, and Peak XV. Headquartered in San Francisco with a Sydney office, Relevance AI operates on a hybrid model and was named LinkedIn's #1 Startup in Australia in 2025. As Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of 4–8 AI-native engineers working on core problems in AI agent orchestration and production deployment on the Enterprise platform. You'll report to the Head of Engineering and partner closely with customer-facing teams and founders. Your mission is to drive strong technical outcomes and deliver ambitious roadmap goals in a fast-moving environment. Key responsibilities include: leading and developing your team with clarity and support; elevating product thinking so the team builds the right thing tied to customer outcomes; setting standards for AI-native engineering practices (agentic workflows, context engineering, eval discipline); demonstrating technical credibility by contributing meaningfully to the codebase, reviewing code, and shipping features; owning quality and reliability including on-call health and postmortems; handling tough conversations with empathy; and hiring bar-raising candidates. You should be hands-on and fluent in coding agents, using AI daily to build context and orchestrate work. You think like a product owner, reason from customer outcomes, and care about building the right thing. You have a track record managing high-performing engineering teams of 4–8 engineers in problem-dense environments, bring technical depth in backend, APIs, and distributed systems, and stay meaningfully hands-on in the codebase. You are a talent magnet who has personally closed strong engineers and believe a smaller AI-native team can out-build a larger traditional one. The tech stack includes React, Vue.js, TypeScript (frontend); Express.js, Node.js, TypeScript, Python (backend); PostgreSQL, MongoDB (database); AWS, Vercel, Terraform, Kubernetes (cloud); and AI coding tools like Claude Code. Experience in the exact stack is not required—what matters is how fast you can pick up new tools and how deeply you already use AI coding agents in your daily workflow. The role is hybrid with 3 days in office required, based in Sydney.
