Neo Financial is a rapidly scaling fintech company on a mission to rebuild financial services infrastructure for Canadians. Founded in 2019, Neo has achieved remarkable growth: #1 on Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 for three consecutive years (2023-2025), #1 fastest-growing company in Canada (2024), with 500+ employees, 1M+ customers, and 10K+ retail partners. The company has shipped a full-stack banking platform including credit cards, savings accounts, mortgages, personal loans, and rewards programs at unprecedented speed.
This is an ongoing pipeline role for engineering leadership at the Manager and Director levels. Neo is building a cadre of exceptional engineering leaders who lead through technical credibility and deep involvement in their teams' work.
You will lead engineers while staying close to the code—reviewing, pairing, and making architecture decisions because you cannot credibly lead a team you've disconnected from. You hold a high performance bar and act on it. You own process excellence, understanding what great agile execution looks like: small tickets, fast cycle times, obsessive test coverage, effective standups and retros. You develop your team, hold them accountable, and can step into their roles when needed. You roll up team performance to executives with real metrics and co-author high-level solution plans with product leadership before work hits the backlog. You don't wait for top-down direction and thrive in fast-moving environments.
Neo's platform handles real financial transactions across banking, credit, lending, and rewards. Engineering challenges span distributed systems, real-time data, payments infrastructure, fraud detection, and compliance. The company builds on modern cloud infrastructure with microservices architecture. Teams move fast, own their domains end-to-end from design through deployment and on-call, with no handoff culture.
Ideal candidates have built and scaled systems handling meaningful transaction volume or data throughput, worked in financial services or regulated industries where correctness is non-negotiable, and have experience managing managers or are ready to step into that role. Neo operates primarily in-person across Calgary, Winnipeg, and Toronto offices, emphasizing collaboration and momentum-building. The company offers equity participation for select roles, reinforcing an ownership mindset.
