Casap is building the world's first AI-native disputes automation and fraud prevention platform for financial institutions. Founded by product leaders from Robinhood and Chime, the Series A startup has raised over $30M from top-tier investors and has achieved 10x revenue growth in the past year. You will own a critical engineering area and lead a team of 8–12 engineers responsible for core platform products and systems. Your responsibilities include: • Technical Leadership: Set technical direction and partner with senior engineers on architecture and system design, making thoughtful tradeoffs around scalability, reliability, speed, and platform evolution. • Product Impact: Work directly with Product and company leadership to shape priorities, identify high-leverage technical investments, and lead your team from ambiguous problems through shipped products with measurable customer impact. • Team Building & Development: Recruit outstanding engineers, raise the hiring bar, develop future technical and people leaders, and create an environment where high performers thrive. • Engineering Strategy: Help shape how engineering operates as the company scales, influencing culture, organizational design, development practices, and technical standards. • Cross-functional Leadership: Operate as both a technical and organizational leader—stay close enough to technology to contribute meaningfully to design discussions while enabling your engineers to move quickly and make great decisions independently. Be a strong voice in company-level decisions, surfacing risks and bringing engineering perspective to product and strategy decisions. Your team will tackle technically complex problems spanning card network integrations, fraud and risk decisioning, AI/ML-powered automation, financial data, and highly regulated workflows. Required experience: 3+ years managing teams of 6+ engineers with a track record of developing strong individual contributors and future leaders. Strong technical foundation to go deep on architecture, system design, and scalability. Ownership of complex, business-critical products where reliability, scale, data integrity, security, or real-time decision-making mattered. Demonstrated ability to operate beyond single-team boundaries, influencing technical direction and helping shape broader engineering strategy. Comfort with high ambiguity and high ownership environments. Strong hiring and talent development track record. Ability to combine technical judgment with product and business intuition, making thoughtful tradeoffs based on customer and company impact. Exceptional communication across all levels. Fintech, payments, fraud/risk, or AI/ML infrastructure experience is valuable but not required; ability to learn quickly and lead exceptional teams is prioritized.
