Salary: USD 177,000 - 222,000 / annual
ClickHouse, a Forbes Cloud 100 company and leader in real-time analytics and data warehousing, is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead for Web Platform. This is a hands-on player/coach role where you'll define the technical direction of ClickHouse's marketing website and digital presence systems while remaining an active code contributor.
You'll architect and maintain the web platform using Next.js, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Strapi, balancing long-term technical strategy with day-to-day execution. Key responsibilities include: defining technical strategy for the web platform; architecting and building the marketing website and supporting systems; contributing meaningful production code; improving platform performance, scalability, reliability, accessibility and maintainability; owning technical health including Core Web Vitals, deployment pipelines, and observability; partnering with Demand Generation on self-service capabilities and A/B testing infrastructure; collaborating with Content on technical SEO; working with Design to deliver exceptional UX; establishing high engineering standards through architecture and code reviews; evaluating modern technologies and AI-assisted workflows; and helping build a high-performing web engineering team as the organization scales.
Required qualifications: 10+ years professional software engineering experience; extensive experience building modern web platforms with Next.js, React, JavaScript and TypeScript; strong software architecture and systems design expertise; experience with headless CMS platforms (ideally Strapi); deep understanding of web performance, accessibility, analytics integrations and modern frontend practices; experience building reliable production systems with modern deployment and monitoring; excellent communication and collaborative skills; pragmatic technical leadership with mentoring ability while staying close to code.
Nice-to-have skills include: high-traffic SaaS website experience; experimentation platforms and A/B testing frameworks; technical SEO knowledge; design systems contribution; modern analytics platforms familiarity; AI-powered developer tools experience.
