Applied Intuition is hiring an Engineering Lead for its Tokyo Self-Driving System (SDS) team. You will lead a world-class group of engineers building and deploying scalable behavior systems for autonomous vehicles, with a focus on Japanese OEM partnerships.
Key responsibilities include: owning technical delivery of the L2++ stack for Japanese customers; serving as the primary technical partner to Japanese OEM engineering teams; defining the Tokyo team's engineering roadmap in partnership with HQ SDS teams; and driving overall strategy, technical roadmap, and architecture for L2 and L4 autonomous vehicle programs.
Required qualifications: 6+ years building software for autonomous vehicles, robotics, or ADAS with shipped products; strong C++ expertise with a track record of production-quality code in safety-relevant or real-time systems; depth in at least two of perception, prediction, behavior and motion planning, control, sensor fusion, on-vehicle systems, and middleware; experience taking systems from prototype to on-vehicle deployment; demonstrated ability to architect large-scale production software for real-world robotic or automotive systems; proven leadership experience managing engineering teams, setting goals, and overseeing technical projects; and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-have qualifications include direct experience on a production L2/L2++ program that reached customer vehicles, business-level English and Japanese fluency, and prior experience leading engineering teams.
