Alamar Biosciences is seeking an Engineer I, Instrument Support to join their Fremont headquarters and support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the ARGO platform—an innovative instrument for measuring critical protein biomarkers from liquid samples with high sensitivity and multiplexing capability.
In this hands-on role, you will own instrument troubleshooting, repair, qualification, calibration, and preventive maintenance for internal ARGO systems. Key responsibilities include managing the ARGO refurbishment process, performing quality inspections and testing of spare sub-modules and manufacturer-repaired components, and developing or improving standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing, qualification, repair, and maintenance activities.
You will address internal user requests promptly, accurately document activities in the issue-tracking system, and provide engineering support to the field service team. Additional duties include developing instrument service bulletins for field use and supporting instrument development efforts such as consumable testing and prototyping.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable, with a pragmatic, methodical approach to troubleshooting. You should work effectively with minimal supervision and collaborate across functional teams to ensure instrument reliability and drive process improvements in a fast-paced biotech environment.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field. One or more years of field-based service experience in the biotechnology industry is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and a commitment to quality and accountability are essential.
