Scale's public sector business delivers cutting-edge American commercial technology and innovation to protect the homeland. As an Engagement Manager on the public sector delivery team, you will own critical customer relationships across a portfolio of defense clients responsible for layered homeland defense. You will serve as a catalyst—willing to go deep technically, drive change, and solve Scale's hardest problems at the intersection of customer needs and engineering capability. Key responsibilities include owning customer relationships from senior government leaders and program offices through operational analysts; building structured user-engagement programs that reach day-to-day operators and analysts; translating operational workflows and mission problems into well-defined AI and agentic workflow use cases; leading cross-functional teams across engineering, product, operations, security, and government stakeholders; planning and executing customer engagement weeks, user testing events, demonstrations, and briefings; and driving adoption of Scale capabilities in operational environments while incorporating feedback into product requirements. You must have an active TS/SCI clearance and 5+ years in technical program management, software engineering, systems engineering, product management, technical consulting, or related technical delivery roles. You need demonstrated ability to build trust with both senior executives and hands-on operational users, experience translating complex customer workflows into structured technical requirements, and strong technical fluency in AI, software systems, data, and agentic workflows. Excellent written and verbal communication skills—including ability to communicate with senior government leaders—are essential. You must be comfortable working in secure facilities and air-gapped government systems, and willing to travel 25–50% for onsite engagements, testing events, and customer meetings. Ideal candidates may have prior military or civilian experience in Combatant Commands, Numbered Air Forces, Air Operations Centers, Joint Intelligence Operations Centers, or Intelligence Community agencies; experience deploying software into live operational centers; experience writing Product Requirements Documents; familiarity with Joint Planning, intelligence, targeting, integrated air and missile defense, or related mission areas; and experience supporting formal government test and evaluation events. Mission areas span Indications & Warning, Dynamic Planning, Non-Kinetic Effects Integration, Modeling & Simulation, Sensor Orchestration, Dynamic Agentic IAMD Planning, Adversary Test Data Integration, Agentic RoL Track Trajectory Prediction, Object Custody, and Cross-Domain Solutions.
