Code Metal is an AI-driven software engineering company that uses formal methods to produce provably correct code. The company serves high-stakes defense customers including the U.S. Air Force, L3Harris, RTX, and Toshiba, helping them modernize legacy systems, optimize performance, and accelerate prototypes to production.
As Engagement Manager, you will own end-to-end customer delivery from pre-proof-of-concept through production deployment. This is a high-touch, strategic role that bridges customers, engineering, product, and growth teams. You will be accountable for project planning, milestone tracking, risk management, and on-time delivery across multiple active accounts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning complete engagement lifecycle and delivery accountability
- Managing customer relationships at all organizational levels, establishing credibility and managing expectations
- Running structured project governance with defined timelines, milestones, and communication cadences
- Triaging and resolving complex deployment issues, turning challenges into relationship-strengthening moments
- Handling contract coordination, requirements clarification, technical scoping, and escalation management as needed
- Developing repeatable engagement playbooks that scale delivery capacity
- Surfacing customer friction to product and engineering teams, and partnering on expansion and renewals
This role requires someone who can operate independently in a resource-constrained, fast-moving environment while managing multiple concurrent engagements. You will need strong executive presence, the ability to translate technical complexity for diverse stakeholders, and proven success leading multi-stakeholder deployments in high-stakes settings.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years leading customer engagements, implementations, or deployments in technical, enterprise environments
- Experience with white-glove enterprise delivery at elite professional services firms (management consulting, investment banking) and/or high-growth SaaS or deep tech companies
- Background in commercial defense or defense technology; familiarity with how primes, Tier 1 suppliers, and defense customers evaluate and procure new technology
- Technical fluency: comfortable discussing software, firmware, or signal processing with engineers; ability to translate complexity for non-technical stakeholders; familiarity with AI-enabled technologies
- Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder deployments and convert difficult situations into customer wins
- Strong executive presence and communication skills effective with working teams and senior stakeholders
- Highly organized and self-directed; comfortable managing multiple accounts in fast-moving environments
- Current security clearance or ability to obtain one
