Chainalysis is seeking an Employment and Compliance Counsel to join its Corporate Legal team. The role advises internal and external stakeholders on employment, compliance, and legal matters as the company scales in the cryptocurrency and blockchain analytics space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide counsel on global employment law issues including employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters, grievances, equity, compensation, benefits, contingent workers, employee classification, and global mobility
- Prepare and negotiate employment-related agreements such as employment contracts and severance agreements
- Support and manage internal investigations into employee misconduct, policy violations, disputes, and litigation
- Develop, implement, and review workplace and compliance policies, processes, and guidance
- Create and deliver company-wide training on employment and compliance matters
- Liaise with external counsel in the U.S. and other jurisdictions
- Collaborate with the Legal team and cross-functional stakeholders on legal and compliance functions, including ownership of employee compliance policies
- Develop understanding of Chainalysis' risk appetite and provide commercially astute, risk-appropriate legal decisions
- Gain solid understanding of Chainalysis' products, services, and business model

Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree
- 4-6 years of experience from a top-tier law firm and company in SaaS, data services, or technology industries
- Member of a U.S. state bar in good standing
- Expertise in U.S. and global employment law with pragmatic, commercial advisory experience
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, critical thinking, and judgment
- Ability to anticipate and mitigate risk, and know when to escalate issues
- Proven ability to own tasks independently and collaborate across the company
- Independent, patient, thoughtful demeanor with ability to manage shifting priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment
Nice to Have:
- Experience advising executives at high-growth technology companies
- Familiarity with or interest in cryptocurrency and blockchain industry
