Salary: USD 129,000 - 161,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an EMI/EMC Test Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering Organization. This role focuses on delivering electromagnetic resilience and compliance testing for Anduril's advanced systems across air, land, water, and space domains.
Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining electrical system test strategies and plans for various Anduril products; conducting electrical compliance and robustness testing per MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-1275; designing and deploying electrical system integration test benches (Iron Bird/Copper Bird/Lab Car); supporting vehicle-level to component-level test requirement decomposition; and driving coverage and analysis of failures observed across unit-level, integration, and system-level testing.
You will devise mitigations for test failures, perform integration testing of electrical subsystems, leverage data analysis tools to reproduce and characterize failures, support environmental reliability testing (HALT/HASS) on PCBA and LRU levels, develop customized harnesses and fixtures for EMI/EMC and power quality tests, and validate automated test systems.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; 5+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on EMI/EMC, hardware validation, and integration testing; familiarity with hardware development lifecycle, reliability, and compliance testing; understanding of engineering concepts and principles with technical application experience; proficiency with Python and/or MATLAB for data parsing and visualization; familiarity with electronics test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, data acquisition systems); knowledge of environmental testing standards (MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1275); strong root cause analysis skills; excellent communication abilities; willingness to travel to remote sites for test integration and commissioning; and ability to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include 7+ years of relevant experience, pursuing a Master's or PhD in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science, experience with firmware integration and vehicle-level validation, knowledge of regulatory compliance standards, familiarity with LabVIEW or TILE software, and experience with analytical tools like SPICE, HFSS, or CST.
