CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II to join our software team and contribute across the full product lifecycle—from architecture and design through production and in-orbit support.
You will bring hands-on expertise in embedded Linux development and the Yocto build system, with strong experience in embedded systems fundamentals including device drivers, kernel customization, bootloaders, and board bring-up. Experience with Xilinx platforms is preferred, though experience with other embedded platforms is valued.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in architecture design, implementation, testing, and qualification of embedded software systems
- Work closely with hardware, systems, and FPGA engineering teams in a cross-functional environment
- Contribute to technical leadership and drive innovation in embedded systems design
- Support production deployment and in-orbit operations
- Engage in hands-on, autonomous work within a dynamic, collaborative team
