The company operates Level 4 autonomous Class 3-7 trucks commercially deployed across Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada, including a partnership with Walmart for the world's first fully driverless commercial transportation service.
You will join the Drive-By-Wire team to build and improve chassis control software for integration onto common ECU hardware. This role focuses on creating functionally safe software solutions for Level 4 autonomous vehicle technology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and improve vehicle chassis controls software for ECU hardware integration
- Create functionally safe software following automotive standards (e.g., ISO 26262)
- Design and propose toolchains for seamless integration of model-based application software on ECU firmware
- Collaborate with requirements engineers to align software maturity and requirements for validation
- Create and track software release plans and testing activities for continuous integration
- Perform autonomous vehicle bring-up, including troubleshooting, software testing, and verification
- Develop and implement test plans for routine software releases, including on-vehicle and simulation testing
- Evaluate performance of AV components (sensors, actuators, algorithms) against safety and performance requirements
- Investigate and debug issues found during testing, working cross-functionally to resolve problems
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineers to ensure seamless AV system integration
This is an onsite role based in Santa Clara, CA.
